Nach United-Abschied: Vereinsloser Martial vor Unterschrift bei AEK Athen

Martial has been without a club since leaving Manchester United

Anthony Martial is on the verge of joining AEK Athens after leaving Manchester United last month.

The 27-year-old striker has been linked with a move to the Greek club for several weeks

And a deal is now close to being completed.

Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015 for a fee of £36 million

But he struggled to hold down a regular place in the team and was sent on loan to Sevilla last season.

He returned to United in the summer but was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Erik ten Hag

And he was released from his contract by mutual consent last month.

AEK Athens are currently top of the Greek Super League

And they are looking to strengthen their squad for their upcoming Champions League campaign.

Martial would be a valuable addition to their team

And he would be reunited with former United teammate Andreas Pereira.

The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days

And Martial could make his debut for AEK Athens in their Champions League play-off match against Fenerbahce on August 23.
